Director of Therapy

Job Brief

Sunrise is a leading private not-for-profit organization serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We’re seeking a dedicated Therapy Department Manager to oversee the delivery of high-quality therapy services across multiple disciplines. This role is crucial in ensuring individuals receive the physical, occupational, and speech therapies they need for optimal wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise therapy technicians and ensure the quality and scheduling of services as prescribed by licensed therapists
• Oversee therapy services, ensuring compliance with regulations and individual care plans
• Manage and maintain inventory of adaptive equipment
• Monitor therapy equipment use, mealtime procedures, and positioning at homes and day programs
• Coordinate care with staff, families, medical professionals, and vendors
• Provide training for staff on therapy-related topics, including physical and nutritional management
• Attend I-Plan meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary planning
• Deliver direct therapy services within scope of licensure
• Assist with budgeting, invoicing, and departmental financial reviews
• Support other regions or departments as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree required
• Licensed in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech/Language Pathology
• Experience working in a therapeutic setting with individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Valid Driver’s License and insurance (30,000-60,000 coverage); clean driving record
• Ability to travel statewide in Florida
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and general computer skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, including medical terminology
• Successfully pass background and drug screenings
